“It all began with an undergrad class I took on a whim”
Hi! My name is Kristen, and I’m the artist behind KKB Ceramics. I have been doing pottery for over a decade! It all began with a undergrad class I took on a whim to satisfy a credit requirement. Little did I know, it would become my passion. When I had my son in 2020, I left my restaurant management position and decided to pursue ceramics full time (outside of my most important job as a mommy!) I love to make functional items that people gravitate towards and use daily. I am a Ceramics Art Educator, teaching classes of all levels to students of all ages. I also work closely alongside The Sawdust Art Festival Corporation, a non-profit art festival which draws over 200,000 visitors annually. Sharing my love of ceramics with others in a positive and uplifting manner has been a pivotal experience in my career and I am so grateful to make an impact in others’ artistic journey with clay.

I primarily throw all of my Items by hand on a 40 year old tank-of-a pottery wheel, with a little bit of hand-building sprinkled in. I do a variety of styles, but my favorite thing to do in the studio is carving. I just love the texture and feel that carving can give to a piece!
